"Style is a deeply personal expression of who you are, and every time you dress, you are asserting a part of yourself". - Nina Garcia
Style is your fashion personality and defining your personal style is important because it allows you to communicate who you are while feeling comfortable and confident.
There's no denying clothes can boost our mood and confidence - we've all done it - chucked on any old thing and left the house and then regretted not having put more thought into it as we feel a bit out all day, or, tried on a friends outfit that looks great on her but somehow doesn't translate on you.

You could create a Pinterest board or file of images you love to help. Which of the words describe the looks you have chosen? Don't overthink it just go with the words that resonate with you and how you want to feel.
Hone it down to 4 to 6 that inspire and excite you! These are your style words.
Write them down, (I like to put mine in a nice card), and dive into your wardrobe - it’s time to do your version of these styles. You're very likely to already have pieces that will create these styles and often the addition of a few more will give you lots more options. Take your style words shopping if necessary.
Remember, our style changes depending on our mood and what we are doing. This is not about limitation, it's an ever evolving process and can be reviewed and tweaked regularly depending on where you're at. Some people have many styles they resonate with while others are comfortable sticking with a few.
A word on trends:
Personal style is in no way built from trends but they are a tool for enhancing your personal style and once you define it it's easier to work out which trends will work for you. Have fun with them they are a great way to keep things current.
I hope you find this helpful - look out for my next blog on December 1st on:
"How to op shop the savvy way" - sometimes our style personality doesn't match with whats in the shops. Although not everyone's cup of tea, buying preloved can be a great way of finding things to fill the gaps while shopping sustainably.
